Meridian Design System

Meridian is a modern design system for 2025 and beyond—built around a curated palette (Navy, Mocha, Lavender, Verdant, Terracotta, Obsidian, Powder) and a complete set of components designed for clarity, balance, and scalability.

It sits between minimal starter kits and bloated enterprise frameworks: lightweight enough to pick up instantly, but structured enough to scale across teams and projects.

What’s inside

  • Scalable tokens for colour, typography, spacing, radius, and shadows
  • Production-ready components: buttons, fields, checkboxes, radios, tabs, tables, notifications, modals, and more
  • Theme-ready structure powered by semantic tokens for flexible theming

The Idea Behind Meridian

This project started as a personal exercise: I wanted a design system that reflects today’s best practices—accessible by default, rooted in balance, and supported by a forward-looking colour palette. Meridian isn’t about hype or endless components. It’s about giving designers a trustworthy, modular foundation they can actually ship with.

I also wrote a deep-dive article on best practices for building scalable design systems in Figma—covering tokens, accessibility, handoff, governance, and more. It’s the playbook I wish I had when I started, and it pairs directly with Meridian.
